Chemical Equations provide a great deal of information about a reaction. Coefficients placed
in front of the formula describe how describe the mole relationships between reactants and products.
We know from the Law of Conservation of Mass that matter cannot be created nor
destroyed; it can only be rearranged. We can apply this thinking to chemical reactions and state:
Whatever goes into the reaction must come out!
So, we must make sure that all reactants end up as products and that the number of moles of each
is the same on both sides of the reaction..but there is 1 major rule:
Subscripts cannot be changed..only Coefficients
added
